One PDF in.
Your part out.
Your band director sends one giant PDF with the score and every instrument. ChartRip finds your pages, splits out each part, and puts it right in front of you in its built-in reader. Organize your charts, build your set lists, and play. All in one app.

Nobody wants to be the person splitting PDFs.
Musicians usually receive their music as one giant PDF: the full score and every instrument's part together.
Getting just your part onto your stand means downloading everything, hunting for your pages, and splitting them out by hand.
Before
Scroll 40 pages. Find where Trumpet 2 starts. Export a page range. Rename it. Import it somewhere else. Repeat for every chart in the set.
With ChartRip
Drop in the PDF. Check the parts. Read your part, or export it. Your whole set list is ready to play.
Three steps. You stay in control.
ChartRip makes the first guess. You make the final call.
Drop in a PDF
Choose a chart or drag it onto the app. Text-based PDFs are read directly. Scans are read with text recognition built into the app, so nothing is uploaded.
Check the parts
ChartRip suggests which pages belong to which part and flags the ones it's unsure about. Rename a part or change its pages whenever you like; your edits are never silently overwritten.
Read it or export it
Open your part in ChartRip's built-in reader, or tick the parts you want and save one PDF per part to a folder you choose, named like In The Mood - Trumpet 2.pdf. Your original PDF is never changed.
Built for rehearsal day.
Fast, quiet and out of your way, so you can get back to playing.
Finds the parts for you
Reads instrument labels like "Trumpet 2", "Sax Alto 1" and "Bone 3", carries a part across its continuation pages, and sets the full score aside.
A reader made for the stand
Switch to Perform mode and read your part full screen. Turn pages with a tap, and the music flows from one chart into the next through your set list. No hunting, no importing.
Remembers what you play
Tell it "Trumpet 2" once and your part is ticked on every PDF you open. "Trumpet" matches every trumpet part.
Ensembles and set lists
Keep every chart in a library, group it by ensemble, and build set lists that open the right part for you.
Folders, ZIPs and your cloud
Pick a folder or ZIP of PDFs and export everything in one go, to any folder you can reach, including iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Drive. ChartRip never connects to them itself.
Works on scans
No text layer? Built-in text recognition reads the page labels on your device.
Cleaner, smaller pages
Trim wide margins so the music fills the page, and optionally shrink big scanned PDFs so they open faster.
Light and dark
A clean interface with page thumbnails and drag and drop, in a theme that suits the room.
Your music is yours. Full stop.
These promises are permanent and written into the app's privacy statement.
Get your part. Get back to playing.
ChartRip is made for iPad: organize your charts at home, then carry the whole set to the stand.
Part detection is a best guess, so look over your parts before a rehearsal or performance. Scanned PDFs can occasionally need a manual fix-up.
ChartRip works on PDFs you already have and contains no sheet music. You are responsible for having the right to copy and split the music you process.
